Below are a selection of the video and audio diaries that have been very generously submitted to us by you. Welcome to the history books!

Marco’s video diary, 28th May 2020

In this video diary, Marco reflects on the fear he felt as his family in Italy were put into lockdown before the pandemic reached the UK, and on the some of the most memorable moments of this public health crisis for him. He also expresses optimism about our future following the pandemic, and belief in people’s ability to learn lessons from it. 

Rowan’s video diary, 30th May 2020

In this video diary, Rowan explains how the lockdown has impacted upon her social and school lives, and particularly on her ability to sit her exams.

Anne’s video diary, 30th May 2020

In this video diary, Anne, a mature student, tells us about how she had worried that she wouldn’t be able to cope with the isolation of the lockdown. However, she explains how, through putting in place a routine, she’s managed to cope surprisingly well.

 

Gabi’s video diary, 31st May 2020

In this video diary, Gabi tells us about how lockdown posed a challenge to her relationship with her boyfriend, in terms of privacy and personal space, as well as to her social life. She also explains how it had a bittersweet effect on her creativity and productivity at work, and how she has had to deal with increased homesickness during this period.

Lil Pidge’s video diary, 1st June 2020

In this video diary, Lil Pidge tells us about how the lockdown has affected her family’s plans to move abroad, as well as her daily routine, her leisure activities, and her studies at school.

Cynthia’s video diary, 2nd June 2020

In this video Diary, Cynthia tells us about how she has had to try and cope with the isolation of the lockdown, and about the changes to her daily life and habits that have developed as a result.

Miriam’s video diary, 2nd June 2020

In this video diary, Miriam (6) tells us about how the lockdown has made it more difficult for her to see her friends and how her trip to Australia had to be cancelled. However, she also tells us about some of the things she’s enjoyed, including homeschooling and building some AWESOME lego ships! Well done, Miriam!

Joel’s video diary, 3rd June 2020

In this video diary, Joel tells us how the lockdown has actually been a surprisingly positive experience for him: giving him the opportunity to explore more of Edinburgh, dive further into his studies, and communicate more often with family.

Pat’s video diary, 3rd June 2020

In this video diary, Pat tells us about the relief she felt when the lockdown was imposed, the anxiety she has felt about going out since then, and the concerns she has as we now move into the #NewNormal. She also tells us about some of the ups and downs of being stuck at home.
